Many snowmobile enthusiasts travel thousands of miles to ride our trails, because the best snowmobile trail conditions in Maine are right here in the Katahdin region. We have the largest fleet of rental sleds in Maine! Our job is to make sure renting a snowmobile in Maine easy. Are you looking to tackle some of the best snowmobile trails in Maine, or are you riding for the first time? Either way we have the sled to fit your needs. Our full fleet of Ski-Doo snowmobiles features high performance and touring sleds. You can ride hundreds of miles of groomed Maine snowmobile trails right from your cabin.

Our lodging is located just steps from Maine’s best snowmobiling trails, winter activities, local scenery and wildlife. Stay a night or stay a week, our location along ITS 85/86 allows our guests the convenience and luxury of a hotel and the comforts of home. The cabins are warm, have full linens and are trailside. These charming cabins are available for a night or longer in a range of sizes and styles, from log cabins with bunk beds to larger luxury cabins for a family vacation in Maine during any season.

Maine Trailside Lodging

Our resort in the Katahdin Region is located just steps from Maine’s best snowmobiling trails, winter activities, local scenery and wildlife. Our location offers cozy lakeside cabin rentals that are perfect for a winter vacation in Maine. These charming cabins are available in a range of sizes and styles, from log cabins with bunk beds to larger luxury guesthouses for a family vacation in Maine during any season. The accommodation has easy access to snowmobile trails, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and ice fishing; Gas, oil and snowmobile rentals on site; A wide selection of small, medium, large, premier cabins that sleep 6–14 people; High quality trailside lodging with all the comforts of home. All winter cabins include: fully-equipped, kitchens bedding/towels, full bathrooms, baseboard heat, some with additional fireplaces or wood-stoves for ambiance. Other Amenities onsite include a Recreation Hall with big screen TV, sauna, ping pong and game room.

The New England Outdoor Center is located just miles from the south entrance of Baxter State Park and Katahdin and provides plenty of terrain for cross country skiing. In addition to that we have 9 miles of groomed trails right here onsite designed by Olympian John Morton. Ice fishing is very popular in Maine and we’re proud to offer our guests the opportunity to fish on the variety of local ponds and lakes in the region including Millinocket Lake, Millimagassett Lake and Long Lake. Snowshoeing, whether you step forward with a hardwood frame and rawhide lacings or with a more modern shoe, the wide open terrain at New England Outdoor Center will provide hours of unlimited exploring and adventure.

The New England Outdoor Center is located just miles from the south entrance of Baxter State Park and Katahdin the northern terminus for the Appalachian Trail as well as a variety of designated wilderness areas. Baxter State Park offers hundreds of miles of hiking trails and the Debsconeag Lakes Wilderness Region is just minutes from our doorstep. Choose to explore on your own or join one of our daily guided activities including hiking, canoeing and kayaking in the summer and skiing or snowshoeing in the winter.  Fishing is very popular in Maine, and we’re proud to offer our guests the opportunity to fish on a variety of local lakes and rivers in the Katahdin region. Join us on a guided fishing excursion and all equipment is provided. Our summer guests enjoy the use of our kayaks and canoes as part of their stay and Millinocket Lake is a wonderful swimming or paddling. You can enjoy volleyball, fire pits, basketball, table tennis, beautiful sauna and our picnic areas right here on the property. Maine Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater Rafting on the Penobscot River in Maine is one of the most spectacular whitewater river experiences in the eastern United States and has become central to our whitewater adventures for all ages and abilities. Maine Whitewater rafting trips on the Penobscot offer exhilarating rapids and breathtaking scenery.  Our trips are designed to maximize both of these experiences whether you want adrenaline pumping class V’s or to relax and enjoy our family floats and soft adventure options. We offer Maine Whitewater Rafting Trips on the Penobscot River, the Kennebec River and the Dead River with whitewater rafting trips leaving daily starting April through late October.  All of the trips can accommodate the individual, families or large groups.

Our river trips cater to all activity and excitement levels. We have class I-IV rapids on the Penobscot River, half-day trips, Double Trouble Trips, Floats and Soft adventure trips. A day trip with us usually includes a river BBQ lunch prepared by our raft guides on the scenic riverbanks. Regardless of your skill level, there is a rafting trip designed for you.
