Driving Directions: Take Exit 244 off I-95. Take Route 11/157 west towards Millinocket. Follow 157 and signs to Baxter State Park (12 miles).  Drive through Millinocket following signs to Baxter State Park or Penobscot Outdoor Center. As you drive out of Millinocket, you will drive straight for 14 miles towards Baxter State Park. The drive becomes more wooded, and less residential. Continue past New England Outdoor Center on the Blackcat Road, and past North Woods Trading Post.  Six miles after North Woods Trading Post, our driveway will be on your right and is marked/sign posted. Travel along the dirt road for about 1/2 mile to a parking lot. Check in is located at the bottom of the hill.
*If you have gone past the Keep Maine Beautiful painted rock, turn around and find the Penobscot Outdoor Center driveway at the top of the hill near the rock.

If you insist on using GPS:  Many GPS systems have outdated maps and incorrect addresses for us.  So here is one option to try:

FOR:  NEOC Camping (aka Penobscot Outdoor Center) 135 Basecamp Road is the address - this will probably not be available on your GPS -

We suggest entering 160 Bates Street in Millinocket, Maine.  This is the last general store you will pass on your way to us.  Once you get to this address - drive an additional 14 miles straight until you see a sign on the right hand side of the road that says "New England Outdoor Center" "Penobscot Outdoor Center" - take that right turn and follow the dirt road for 1/2 mile to our main parking lot.
