On this lovely last day of spring, our Maine guide Ken set out by van up the Golden Road with his 4 guests in tow. They stopped at a couple of secret spots and ended up at the Sofa Pit. During the trip they spotted a cow moose, 3 ring-necked ducks, barn swallows, 2 grouse including a chick, a fox, some lady slippers and wild strawberries. In the evening after the lake laid down from the winds of the day, Ken and his group of 3 set sail for Big Mud Brook and saw loons and ring-necked ducks, cormorants and Canada geese, a red tail hawk, a beaver, a snapping turtle and a cow moose with the first calf spotted by Ken this year.
